I have been on Highland Radio about this subject and it is important to open up this debate.
This is the information that I got from HSE member
“Management met with Unions collectively this am and put forward a range of proposals that would reduce costs and contribute to our savings target. Internal discussion document…s that contained draft proposals that were discussed in the public arena earlier this week were not approved and will not be actioned. Therefore the proposals around the magnitude of the reductions in temporary staff hours that would impact on both the orthopaedic ward and medical rehabilitative unit were not agreed. A different set of proposals with a much more modest impact on jobs and services were presented to the Unions today. They agreed to take them away for consideration and plan to reconvene again next Wednesday for their feedback. Staff unions need an opportunity to go through these proposals with their members, but the overall problem has not gone away and the hospitals still needs to make significant savings by year end.”..unquote ………………. what do people think ?
